Founded in 1735, Blancpain is known for refusing to produce either quartz movements or digital displays for any of their watches. The company produces fewer than 3 watches per day, all made by a single watchmaker. They are also the creators of the Blancpain 1735, one of the most complicated mechanical watches ever made. Only one is produced per year.
Another well-known Blancpain model is the Fifty-Fathoms , used by the US Navy and worn by famed ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau.
