In 1947, Omega created the first tourbillon wristwatch calibre in the world with the 30I. In 1999, Omega made history by introducing the first mass-produced watch incorporating the co-axial escapement, widely considered to be one of the most important horological inventions since the lever escapement. Omega watches were the choice of NASA for the Apollo missions and was the first watch on the Moon in 1969.
